The Alexis de Tocqueville Society recognizes philanthropic leaders in our community. Individuals who donate $10,000 or more to United Way of Norman receive this special honor.
The society is named after Alexis de Tocqueville. Tocqueville came to the United States when he was 26. He admired three elements in North American culture: liberty, equality, and the spirit of neighbor helping neighbor.
