Giving to the United Way of Norman is the easiest and most efficient way to make one donation that helps the entire community. Your gift will benefit dozens of programs that help children who are victims of abuse, ensure that the hungry can get a hot meal, provide medical services to people who can’t afford them and increase the independence of adults living with disabilities. With one donation, you can help all these people and more.
United Way of Norman funds 40 programs at 28 organizations. These programs are all exceptional, but through no fault of their own there is sometimes a gap between community needs and agency response. That's when United Way of Norman steps in to manage community initiatives to fill those gaps.
80-cents of every dollar donated goes directly to helping people in our community.
Yes! We allow designations to support programs of any of our current funded partners. You find those partners and their designation codes in the United Way of Norman brochure or on the funded partner page. Designations not meeting requirements will be directed to the Community Action Fund.
Volunteers serving on the United Way's four Impact Councils decide how to distribute dollars to programs requesting funding. The Impact Councils then make recommendations to the Board of Directors, who have final approval on all funding.
We understand and appreciate to desire to give where you live. All you have to do is use the designation code 7100 to ensure your donation is forwarded to your community. If your employer matches contributions, make sure to ask them to send all of your donation to United Way of Norman.
