United Way of Norman is committed to respecting the privacy of our donors. We retain our donor personal information within a secure database where it is used to verify transactions, print receipts, show gratitude to our supporters for contributions, provide communication to our supporters and to solicit future donations. We provide information to our board members and staff on a confidential, need-to-know basis. We do not share or trade our donors’ names or personal information with others, and we do not sell that information. Donor information will be kept confidential except as required for financial reporting to state and federal entities. We release donor information to other agencies if they are receiving funds specifically designated by the donor, unless the donor has directed us otherwise. We recognize our leadership level donors in our Leadership Registry annually, unless they request otherwise. We do not send mailings to our donors on behalf of others.
Credit and Debit Card Donations: United Way of Norman collects donations from our donors through credit card processing transactions. We require the use of SSL Secured Certificate encryption to protect transmission of donor personal information submitted while making a donation. Donations cannot be canceled and are not subject to any refunds. We do not keep credit card information within our database to ensure privacy and protection of card information.
