United Way of Norman is committed to connecting families with virtual learning resources. We understand that many families need help with supervision. Our desire is to relieve the burden on families as much as possible. This page contains information resources available to parents and organizations. United Way of Norman Funded partners are marked with an asterisk.

Programs

Norman Parks & Recreation

Norman Parks & Recreation offers day camps with integrated virtual classrooms.

  • WHEN: M-F, 7:30am-6pm
  • WHO: Elementary students
  • WHERE: Norman Rec Centers
  • COST: $75/week. Scholarships are available.

Community After School Program (CASP)*

CASP offers small group activities including arts and crafts, games, literacy, math, science and physical activity. Time will be provided for students to log on and complete schoolwork each day.

  • WHEN: M-F, 7:30am-5:30p

  • COST: $175/week. Scholarships are available.

The Spot*

The Spot offers free wifi, tutoring, snacks and social services for youth ages 14-21. Limited transportation may be available.

Cleveland County Family YMCA

We are offering a modified education program that will include time each day for students to log-on to their NPS accounts to work on their assignments, provide various safety opportunities such as basic first aid, CPR, swim instructions, safety around water, outdoor education, as well as various opportunities for community service. We will have outdoor recess on our playground, daily physical education, and free lunch available. The program will operate from 8 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. We will also offer after school care for those participating in our Y academy program for an additional fee.

  • WHO:  Open to Elementary Students who are Norman YMCA Members. first come, first served.
  • WHERE: Cleveland County Family YMCA | 1350 Lexington Ave, Norman
  • COST:  $150/week and an additional $40/week for after school care. Scholarships are available.

Loveworks Leadership*

Loveworks offers leadership programming targeted toward middle school students. Programs offered include:

Junior Leadership Institute
We focus on leadership, personal growth, communication skills, and career-readiness.

After School Leadership
Program designed to help students make positive life choices, discover career paths and set them on a trajectory for personal success.

Boys & Girls Club of Norman*

Boys & Girls Club of Norman has been selected as a Community HOPE Center as part of a statewide effort to help reduce the negative effects of childhood trauma. Mornings will be focused on academic support and virtual learning in small group settings and afternoons will look more like traditional Club time with arts & crafts, games, recreational activities, etc.  We will be offering breakfast, lunch and snacks.

  • WHEN: M-F, 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (through the Fall semester)
  • WHO: Norman Public School students (ages 6-18)
  • WHERE: Boys & Girls Club of Norman | 210 S. Cockrel Ave., Norman
  • COST: Free

Redeemer Church

Redeemer Church offers supervision for special needs students.

Incredible Kids Academy

Your child will be in a safe, CLEAN, and positive environment with trained coaches encouraging your child to be his or her best. Incredible Kids Academy includes early drop off, classroom setting for virtual learning, fitness classes, dance, arts and crafts and more.

Activities

Bricks 4 Kidz

Bricks 4 Kidz offers STEM enrichment classes using LEGO bricks. Classes can be delivered at child care centers or remote learning centers and also in private residences/locations. All equipment is provided and classes are taught by trained Bricks 4 Kidz instructors. Kids get to learn build and play with LEGO bricks during a 45-60 minute hands-on, interactive session.
