Success by 6/Smart Start Norman is one of 19 communities across the state charged by The Oklahoma Partnership for School Readiness Act of 2003 with ensuring that all children in our communities are safe, healthy, eager to learn and ready to succeed by the time they enter school.
To meet the vision of increasing the number of children ready to succeed in school, we collaborate with agencies and organizations that work with children birth to six years of age to help better coordinate existing programs to increase their effectiveness and make them more cost-efficient.
Success By 6/Smart Start Norman moved to the United Way of Norman to become its first initiative in 2005, identifying challenges and solutions, coordinating resources, supporting quality programs and improving the lives of children birth to six years of age.
Success By 6 is the foundation of the important work that is done at the United Way of Norman through the Education framework. The solid educational beginnings of our children from birth through pre-k allows our schools and our out of school time agencies to continue the support those children need to become successful adults.
