- Food Drive Tops Goal and Keeps Going

kaden_food_drive.jpgThe Extreme Food Drive was a huge success! We blew past the 23,000 pound goal... raising 31,000 pounds and counting.

One of the great stories coming out of this event is the story of Kaden Webster and his friends, McKenna and Konner. With the help of Kaden's mother Connie, the group put together their own food drive... going door to door to collect as much food as they could.

When we went to pick it up, we coudn't believe what we saw... boxes, bags and cans of food filling up Kaden's garage. We weighed everything as we packed it in a truck to deliver to a food pantry at the United Methodist Church in Lexington. The final total... 1849 pounds... almost a ton of food.

That food, along with the rest collected during the drive, is much appreciated by the organizations that will use it. We can't wait to hand it out to them. Thanks to everyone who helped us collect food and to everyone that donated food. This drive shows the power of a community when they pull together for a common goal.
